It’s with a very heavy heart that we are announcing that all end-of-year school activities have been cancelled including all in-person banquets, awards ceremonies, and the prom. Social distancing guidelines will more than likely still be in place through the end of this school year. We do not believe that the state will be implementing the Opening Up America Again guidelines quickly enough for us to disregard the social distancing measures any time soon.
Seniors: School leaders and the Student Council are collaborating on ideas and coordinating special events to recognize our seniors. Events more than likely will have to occur after July. If possible, I would like to sponsor a Senior Dance at the school in early August. While not at the level of the prom, at least it could provide an opportunity to engage with peers in a fun environment before starting the next chapter of your lives. We also remain very hopeful that at some point we can meet at the stadium field for that group hug!
Juniors: We know that you may be disappointed that the prom is cancelled; however, we are encouraged that the same venue is available for us to use for your senior year’s prom. It is a beautiful venue and you will truly enjoy the event next year. Please remain focused on your classes for now. End this school year strong so that you enter your senior year with a clear path to graduation!
Sophomores and Freshmen: We love you too! Please remain focused on your classes for now. End this school year strong so that you enter your upperclassman years with a solid GPA, and all of your credits.
