At Land O’ Lakes High School, we have a school counselor for each grade level as well as one for our International Baccalaureate Programme. Students are encouraged to talk to their counselor about their educational, vocational, or personal concerns. If you or your student are looking for information and/or advisement on college, career, or any other postsecondary planning, we have our College and Career Specialist available as a resource as well.
When it comes to questions or concerns that are grade, assignment, or classroom-specific, we encourage students’ initial step to be advocating for themselves by speaking with their teachers first. For students and families looking for an effective way to monitor their academic progress, the MyStudent app allows users to view grades, assignments, and contact teachers directly.
If you are attempting to communicate with your students teacher(s) directly but still feel that a parent teacher conference is necessary to discuss their progress in detail, please contact our Student Services Secretary, Ms. Alissa Canter, at 813-794-9407.
Our school counselors work hard to make themselves available to students who are in need of the support and/or resources that will help them navigate through high school as well as prepare for life after graduation, and they are extremely passionate about their role as student advocates.
