Today we celebrated Mardi Gras in French class. We learned what it is and why it is celebrated. We watched a documentary, colored pictures, and listened to traditional Mardi Gras songs in French, such as La Danse de Mardi Gras and Jambalaya (On the Bayou). The students received bead necklaces, masks, Mardi Gras pins, and even temporary tattoos. We had a lot of fun, and the students really enjoyed the celebration.
