Florida passed a law requiring all high school athletes to have an EKG. Pasco county is hosting an event at High School Campuses to offer $20 EKG screenings. We will be hosting this in the LOLHS gym on March 11th from 3pm to 7pm. We are recommending all athletes have this done. Please encourage all your athletes to get this done and attend the 3/11 screening.
The following students will be required to complete an EKG screening prior to trying out for sports in the 2026–2027 school year:
• All incoming 9th-grade student-athletes
• Students in grades 10–12 who have never participated in an FHSAA-sanctioned sport
• Any student who transfers to Pasco County Schools and participates in an FHSAA-sanctioned sport
Returning athletes are not required to obtain an EKG; however, it is strongly encouraged.
