Originally from Queens, NY, Ms. Lina LaBarbara started her teaching career in Cleburne, TX after graduating from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1996. Then, moved back to Florida to work at her alma mater Gulf High School at first working in the Drop Out Prevention Program and then later teaching English.
She began working at Land O’ Lakes High School in 2010 as the Media Specialist. When the district eliminated that position in the county, Ms. LaBarbara transitioned back into the classroom teaching English again. She then took over the Journalism program in 2013 overseeing the Alligate yearbook and the Swamp Talk news show.
Ms. LaBarbara’s passion for journalism grew out of closely following the tragedy of 9/11. She believes strongly in a free press that conducts itself with integrity when reporting facts and representing Land O’ Lakes High School.
She is extremely proud of Gatorpress and the work they put into crafting a quality yearbook and news show.

Yearbooks have arrived! We will distribute WEDNESDAY, MAY 13th during the lunches in ROOM 522. [There will be some available to purchase each lunch, first come-first served.] The price is $85. Students need to pay in person via check, cash, and or credit/debit card....

Yearbooks are on sale for the 2026-27 school year through yearbookforever.com. The earlier you purchase, the better the price! Books not picked up at the end of the school year will only be stored for the first semester of the next school year. After that, books will be released to be sold.

School Picture Day for grades 9, 10, & 11

Picture day: Thursday, September 10, 2026 (Students will be given a card that day to scan for online ordering.)

Students should make sure the spelling of their name is correct on the picture card that day.

Make up day: Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026

Clubs picture day and senior group photo will be taken on Thursday, January 29. There is no make-up day for these photos.

The senior group picture will be available to purchase through Gigante Productions studio.

Senior Picture Information

Senior pictures MUST be taken by our contracted photographer, Gigante Productions, in order to be included in the yearbook. BOTH a FORMAL and CASUAL photo are included on the page. So, you must take both.

There is a sitting fee for the studio time with the photographer; however, you are not obligated to buy photos.

If there is a hardship, please reach out to your school counselor to see if we can assist.

PHOTOS TAKEN by mid-NOVEMBER will be able to choose your poses for the book. The last day to take a photo and be included in the yearbook is DECEMBER 11, 2026.
