FortifyFL is a mobile suspicious-activity reporting tool that students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School helped the state develop and name. The students chose the name FortifyFL because the purpose of the app truly represents the definition of the word fortify—which is to strengthen and protect against attack. This is serious business for them, and it should be for all of us.
The app is for students and the community to relay information concerning unsafe, dangerous, violent, or criminal activities, or the threat of these activities, to public safety agencies and school officials. If you submit a tip, it will go directly to law enforcement and school safety officials to investigate.
Use FortifyFL only if you feel unsafe or want to report possible criminal or dangerous activity. This tool was developed with your safety and security in mind, and with the hope that you never have to experience what the students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas went through in 2018. Keeping our schools safe is all of our responsibility.
