Renovation Update

April 12, 2017

Dear Land O’ Lakes High School Staff, Parents, and Students,

Pasco County Schools is proud to be taking a leadership role in providing a safe, comfortable, and productive environment for our students and staff so that we achieve our core mission – providing a world-class education for all students.

On Monday, April 17, 2017 Terracon Consultants, Inc. will be conducting the data collection of baseline dust levels in preparation for the upcoming remodel project. These baseline levels will be used during the project to ensure that dust levels are within an acceptable range. Periodic dust level monitoring will be conducted during the demolition, concrete cutting, and drywall phases of the two year project. Pasco County Schools will be using guidance from Terracon Consulting Engineers and Scientists, as well as Walbridge Construction’s Safety Manager to prevent and respond to any indoor air quality annoyance issues that may arise.

Ric Mellin will be the School Liaison to Terracon Consultants, Inc. and Walbridge Construction, as well as to staff, parents, and students. Any questions or concerns during the renovation project should be directed to Ric. Additionally the District Renovations Website will provide updates as the project progresses: http://www.pasco.k12.fl.us/renovations/lolhs/.

Walls will be constructed to provide a physical barrier between the construction area and student occupied areas of the building. Mechanical ventilation (i.e. fans and/or portable blowers – negative air machines) will be used to maintain negative air pressure gradient between the work area and occupied areas to ensure safety of all building occupants.

We Thank You in advance for your cooperation and patience as we transform LOLHS into a State of the Art Educational Facility to enhance this already top notch academic school!

Sincerely,

Carey Llazari Project Coordinator
